    The relevance of leisure marketing activities among university level students

    The leisure sector represents the fastest and among one of the largest growing economic sectors of consumer spending. However, our understanding and knowledge of consumer psychology of recreation and leisure are yet limited to the social and economic significance of the under-research phenomenon. Therefore this study investigated the relevance of recreational marketing activities in leisure consumers in terms of their preferences. Through an online survey 300 responses were collected from the respondents till closing date. Confirmatory Factor Analysis were conducted with help of AMOS 24 software. Significant differences were found in terms of importance, and place, between male and female students. Moreover, higher mean observed for male students than females in terms of these sub-dimensions social, access, and place. This study offer many practical and managerial applications to marketers and policy makers by identifying the important dimension of leisure activities

An online survey was conducted and 217 participants' responses were measured with the help of a questionnaire. Multiple regression was used to analyze individual characteristics of self- leaders. The findings indicate that individual characteristics do predict self-leadership. Personality traits variables conscientiousness and openness have a significant positive relationship with self-leadership practices. Surprisingly, this study found emotional stability has no significant relationship with self-leadership behavior. This study also employed a rigorous validation technique therefore, this study was able to address some of the methodological limitations of previous studies such as common method variance by examining the proposed relationships in a longitudinal setting

    Consumers Increasing Confidence towards Social Commerce: The Role of Social Media Marketing, Trust and Social Media Engagement

    Recent research shows peoples are spending more time on digital online platforms like Facebook, and others. Of which business organization sees as an opportunity for expanding businesses. This study aims to investigate the driving factors behind the increasing confidence of social commerce consumers to social media engagement, social media marketing effectiveness, and social/self-identities, along with their increasing confidence level for social commerce. With the help of structure, online survey data were collected from 200 respondents and were analyzed using Smart PlS3 software. Results revealed that social media engagement levels significantly affect the trust level, which consequently results in increased confidence level for social commerce. Furthermore, it was also found that social media marketing activities and social presence positively affect the trust of social media community members.&nbsp

    The Unrevealing Nexus between Foreign Direct Investments, Institutional Quality and Financial Development in Pakistan

    The study examines the nexus between FDI, institutional quality, and financial development in Pakistan. We believe that it is a novel research attempt as it covers both democratic and non-democratic regimes. We use linear ARDL methodology to predict the nature of the relationship as a baseline estimator and Granger causality as a robustness check for further validation of results. The study covers the period from 1990 to 2018. We find that both FDI and institutional quality positively affect financial development in Pakistan. We find bi-directional causality between financial development and institutional quality and a unidirectional casualty between FDI and institutional quality. Likewise, we also find a unidirectional causality between FDI and financial development, running from financial development to FDI. The study has some managerial implications for policymakers to strengthen the country’ macroeconomic environment and to encourage institutional reforms to boost up the confidence of local as well as foreign investors

    The critical role of self-leadership’s in work engagement and organizational citizenship behaviors

    This study discuss the relationships between self-leadership, organizational commitment, emotional exhaustion, work engagement, Organizational Citizenship Behaviors, and perceived organizational commitment. Using a sample of 280 employees, it was found that self-leadership had a positive relationship with organizational citizenship behaviors. Further, through emotional exhaustion self-leadership had a significant relationship with work engagement. The findings further suggest that perceived organizational support moderated the relationships between self-leadership and both organizational citizenship behaviors and emotional exhaustion. This study filled a void in the literature by critically examining how emotional exhaustion may act as a mechanism in between self-leadership and work engagement/organizational citizenship behaviors

    The impact of Covid-19 on E-business practices and consumer buying behavior in a developing country

    Online trade has shown a sharp increase since the outbreak of pandemic Coronavirus. The COVID-19 has affected almost all financial and business activities around the world, even in Pakistan. It has changed the way consumers used to shop before the pandemic outbreak. Many companies until recently have developed and created their online stores and making up the most of their sales using internet channel. Consumer have no other choice but shop from home. In this research study, we discuss the impact of COVID-19 on e-business practices and consumer behavior in Pakistan. The theory of acceptance model has been applied where consumer behavior, e-business, and COVID-19, and posted as a key construct of the proposed research model. Structural Equation Modelling approach has been used to examine the interrelationship of variables of research. We applied two-step recommended Structural Equation Modelling approach, first, validate the constructs by using Confirmatory Factor Analysis, and then conducted Structural Equation Modelling path analysis and report the results, which indicated that in the present scenario COVID-19 has significantly impacted both e-businesses and consumer buying behavior in the context of Pakistan. This research briefly highlights the e-commerce trends and discusses the rapidly growing scope for online businesses and makes several future research suggestions, especially in the context of cultural and other barriers such as digital payment adoption in developing economies.     Working Capital Management and Corporate Cash Holding: A Comparative Analysis of Conventional and Islamic Banks in Pakistan

    This study was conducted to understand the impact of Working Capital Management on Corporate Cash Holding in the context of conventional and Islamic banks in Pakistan. In this study, we used the panel data of 31 banks in which 24 are conventional banks while 7 are Islamic banks. In this study, the data was collected from the annual reports of both conventional and Islamic banks from 2011 to 2017. The data was analyzed through various statistical techniques i.e. Descriptive Statistic and Correlation, Fixed effects, Random effects and Hausman test. The working capital management proxy such as cash flow ratio has positive and statistically insignificant effect on corporate cash holding of Conventional banks, while firm size and leverage show positive and statistically significant effects on corporate cash holding. Similarly, the cash flow ratio shows a positive and statistically insignificant effect on the corporate cash holding of Islamic banks in Pakistan and a positive and statistically significant effect of control variables.     Effect of Corporate Governance on Financial Reporting Quality: Evidence from Listed Textile Sector Firms on Pakistan Stock Exchange

    This research aims to find the association between financial reporting quality and corporate governance. The current study used the financial data from textile sector firms, registered on Pakistan Stock Exchange and collected data from 2009-2016. Multi-variate regression models i.e. Random effects and Fixed effects models were used to explain these relationships. We used audit committee independence, board independence, institutional shareholders ownership and CEO duality and FRQ in this regression model. Investigation revealed that there is positive relationship between financial reporting quality and corporate governance. The results found that Audit Committee has positive outcome on the Financial Reporting Quality of textile sector companies. Likewise, Board Independence has positive significant effect on the Financial Reporting Quality. While, Institutional Shareholding ownership has also positive effect on the Financial Reporting Quality of firm which means that with the increase in Institutional ownership will enhance the Financial Reporting Quality of the firms. The results also predict positive effect of CEO-Duality on the firm’s financial reporting quality which signifies the importance of Chief Executive Officer Duality in enhancing the firm’s Financial Reporting Quality in Pakistani context.
